Female engineers and budding entrepreneurs have been advised to take advantage of Nexgen Energy’s capacity building and development initiatives.
Engr. Dr. Adenike Kolawole, Chairperson of the Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN), Oyo State chapter, made the call recently during a courtesy visit to the Nexgen Energy Hub.
Kolawole, alongside other representatives of the association, were conducted around the building. She expressed joy that the Energy Hub, the first of its kind in Oyo State, would offer many economic and growth opportunities for both the state and the nation.
While commending Nexgen for its capacity building plans in the Hub, she urged women to take advantage of the facility and be ready to set up businesses around renewable energy.
“Nexgen Energy’s Capacity Building plans will be rewarding to APWEN members”, she said. “It will encourage female installers to set up businesses around renewable energy these days and times when women are breaking the bias.”
In his response, the MD/CEO of Nexgen Energy, Dr. Uka Ibe, highlighted possible areas the company will collaborate with APWEN to pursue the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 and 13.
APWEN members who accompanied Dr Kolawole included: Engr Esther Oluwakemi Oladeji, Engr Nike- Akinrunde and Engr Dr. Oluyemi Adetoyi
