Foremost indigenous renewable energy giant Nexgen Energy has pledged to continue to deliver quality products and services to its clients and customers across Nigeria as it celebrates its 8th anniversary in the industry.
Founded on June 19 2014, Nexgen Energy has been at the forefront of mini-grid alternative energy solutions, offering sales and services for solar panels, inverters, batteries and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). With almost 8000 happy customers nationwide, its sales and service coverage increased from 16 to 26 states and the FCT in 2021 alone.
In March 2022, the company commissioned an ultramodern training and service building known as the Nexgen Energy Hub in Ibadan. The facility houses a digitized showroom/experience centre, 30-seater capacity training room and a state-of-the-art service centre.
“We embarked on this clean energy journey in 2014. Today, we’ve spent eight eventful years going green, harnessing the power of the sun and supplying solar energy to light up homes and lift businesses,” the company’s MD/CEO, Engr Uka Ibe, said in a statement.
According to Engr Ibe, “Nexgen has grown in leaps and bounds. Thanks to the support and patronage of great customers and stakeholders in and outside Nigeria. We’ll continue to do more for our people and the environment.
Ibe noted that having worked to see many homes and businesses switch to solar energy, the company has contributed significantly to reducing CO2 emissions in the journey towards climate-responsible energy generation, distribution and consumption.
“We’ll also continue to contribute our quota to reduce youth unemployment by training more young people as installation and maintenance engineers,” the company boss said.
He recalled that the company recently organized a solar energy installation training for members of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Ibadan Chapter, at the Nexgen Energy Hub. Among the participants were students, unemployed youths, a serving corps member and engineers with notable institutions like the Ibadan Energy Distribution Company (IBEDC), Oyo State Rural Electrification Agency, Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, University of Ibadan and Oyo State Water Works.
To reward its loyal customers, the company in 2019 organized a customers day event tagged “Win a Trip to Dubai”, where a fish farmer, Mrs Ademola Bello, won an all-expense-paid fun trip to Dubai. The prize was for the winner and “a significant other”, and Mrs Bello chose her daughter. Other customers went home with various consolation prizes.
Nexgen Energy also gives back to society through its “Unlock the Future” education project. The project kicked off in December 2021 with about 300 pupils and students benefitting from the payment of examination fees and school fees in addition to several educational supplies, including school bags, writing materials, scientific calculators, mathematical sets, and dictionaries.
“We won’t stop at that. We’ll continue to reward our customers, we’ll continue to empower young people with skills, and we’ll continue to increase the capacity and diversity of our staff, all in a bid to serve our customers better”, Ibe said.
